Riley's Celebration of Life includes family and friends from all over the United States coming together at Stillwater Landing, near Whitefish, Mt for his goodbye ceremony, followed by a celebration including music, slideshow, bonfire, fireworks, friends and family at his home.
He is remembered through 6 trees (2 outdoor cherry trees, 2 indoor cherry trees and 2 to be purchased), a plaque and bench by one tree at his home, with open access to anyone who would like to sit and talk with him and ongoing scatterings throughout the world. Currently he is at Honolulu Beach in Hawaii, 1000 Buddhas in Montana and his trees.
Riley Dring Stanwood was born in Houston, TX to Christl and Reeves Stanwood. He moved to Whitefish, MT the summer of 2010. Riley was a funny, curious and friendly person, helpful and kind older brother and son. He earned his Eagle Scout award in 2020, graduated from Whitefish High School in 2021, received his associates from Nascar Tech in 2024 and attended MSU in 2025. Through his travels he enjoyed time in London, France, Mexico, Japan, Hawaii, Oregon, Washington, Colorado and Florida. Riley loved spending time with family and friends, racing his cars, long walks at night and dreaming about the future.
