The ashes were placed in a water journey urn and released on the River Thames surrounded by his wife, children and grandchildren.

Paul Baker passed away on 11th June 2024 after loosing his battle with Myelodysplastic syndrome. His funeral was held at the Surrey and Sussex Crematorium on 5th July 2024.

His ashes are split with half scattered on 31st August 2024 at Wargrave on the River Thames. Half will be scattered at the Bluebell Railway on 29th October 2024 with a memorial stone to be laid in the Memorial Garden at Horsted Keynes.
