Nathan Fraser Moors
Celebrated on: October 24, 2026
Nathan Moors, 65, of Silver Springs, Maryland, passed away peacefully on July 7, 2026, of natural causes. A man whose laughter could fill a room and lift the spirits of everyone in it, Nathan leaves behind a legacy of warmth, devotion, and genuine connection that will be cherished by all who knew him.
Nathan was born on February 28, 1961, in Jefferson County, Kentucky, to the late William Moors and the late Marilyn Moors. Raised in Maryland alongside his siblings, Nathan grew up in a close-knit family that instilled in him the values of loyalty, hard work, and the importance of showing up for the people you love. Those values would define the man he became and the life he built.
Nathan eventually made his way to the Washington, D.C., area, settling in Silver Springs, Maryland, where he would spend the later years of his life. It was there that he deepened his roots, building a family and a community of people who came to know him as a man of steadfast character and infectious good humor.
On May 11, 1997, Nathan married Maria Moors, the love of his life. Their union was a partnership built on mutual respect, deep affection, and shared devotion to their family. Together, Nathan and Maria created a home full of laughter, love, and purpose. Nathan embraced the role of father with his whole heart, helping raise three children, Douglas Caceres, Beatriz Caceres, and Carina Caceres, with patience, encouragement, and an unwavering presence. He took immense pride in watching each of them grow into their own and was always their biggest supporter.
Those who knew Nathan well would agree that one of his most defining qualities was his laugh. It was unmistakable, full-bodied and genuine, the kind that made others want to laugh along even before they knew the joke. His sense of humor was not performative; it came from a place of true joy and an ability to find lightness even in difficult moments. Nathan had a way of making people feel at ease, of turning ordinary gatherings into memorable occasions simply by being himself.
Nathan is survived by his beloved wife, Maria Moors of Silver Springs, Maryland; his son, Douglas Caceres; his daughters, Beatriz Caceres and Carina Caceres; his brothers, Philip Moors and Doug Moors; his sister in law, Lelia Moors; his nieces, Heather Moors and Kathleen Moors; and dear loved ones Levi Zelaya, Agnes Johnson, Oscar Johnson, and William Johnson, all of whom held a special place in his life. He was preceded in death by his parents, William and Marilyn Moors, and his nephew, Brian Moors.
Nathan’s family and friends will remember him not only for the milestones and achievements of his life, but for the countless small moments that revealed his true character: the way he greeted people with warmth, the way he could ease tension with a well-timed joke, and the way he loved his family with quiet, unshakable devotion.
While Nathan was a man who carried his faith gently and privately, his family takes comfort in the belief that he is now at peace, reunited with those who went before him. His spirit, so full of life and laughter, lives on in the hearts of everyone he touched.
