Monica Lee Schwegel




I am in Wilhoit, Arizona at Monica’s house. I’m alone and meditating and remembering and weeping. It’s very windy today, and she will fly into the sky and be in the land she loved next to Prescott National Forest. I will scatter her near the grave I dug for her kitties.
Her dear friends Thelia Nightingale and Cindy Bell will be here with me.

Her land in Wilhoit

Monica was born in Millville, NJ 07March1950.
She lived in Athens, Decatur and Avondale Estates, Georgia before moving to Phoenix, Arizona in early 1990’s. Her final residence was in Wilhoit, Arizona where she died of cancer on 03May2024. She never married, but loved animals her entire life. She was the person that would adopt a stray rather than know it would be euthanized. She was a motorcycle enthusiast and drove across country on her BMW R80 touring bike.
She had MS for many, many years but was always able to bounce back.
She helped raise me and most of my monumental life memories were with her.
