Margie Newsome
Family gathered at the Palm Bay Marina where we took a boat out into the intercoastal waterway and placed her ashes so she can travel anywhere she wants to go. A dozen of the most beautiful roses (the color of sunset) were placed in the water, while the song Purple Rain played in the background. Her loved ones hugged, cried and sang along while we watched the urn slip beneath the waves as a pod of dolphins suddenly appeared as if it was Nana saying she approved of her spot.

Marge Newsome “Nana” was 86 years old when she passed on Mother’s Day May 12, 2024. She could be described as feisty. How do you put into words a life well-lived? Nana was born in Payne, M; after graduation high school in 1956 she joined the US Navy and was station in Hawaii where she met and married a US Navy Submariner. She had two children, Katherine and James Jr. She had 5 grandchildren, Eric, Mary, Christopher, Dylan, and Brianna. She had one great-grandchild, Harlyn.
Nana lived most of her life in Central Florida where she worked until just a few months before her passing.
Nana would bring a smile to everyone’s face when she would hear the Prince song, Purple Rain as she would begin swaying and singing – she absolutely loved this song and was animated in her belting it out.
Nana will be missed by us all
