Kaeli Murray
In honor of Kaeli's deep love for nature, sea turtles, dolphins, and the beach, her final resting place is off the shores of Padre Island. Those who loved Kaeli will rest in knowing that no matter where they are in the world, if they are at a beach or near the ocean Kaeli is there with them, too.
The brilliantly lit Orion constellation faded into pinks and purples of morning twilight that painted the sky on August 5th, 2024. Smooth, glassy ocean surface met her and her father who had held her first in life. Matthew walked with Kaeli alone into the ocean letting her go, making him the last to hold her. A dolphin greeted Kaeli and guided her as we watched in awe of the beauty and perfectness of our send off.
Our sweetest, most fun-loving, kind, silly, beautiful, and talented Kaeli left this world on July 1st 2024 at 7:35 pm.
Kaeli Basil Murray was born on September 22nd, 2009 at 9 o’clock am at Fort Hood Army Base in Killeen, Texas to her father Matthew Murray.
She had recently graduated from 8th grade at John M. Tidwell Middle School, where she was on the wrestling team, in theater, and was a featured artist in the district art show. Kaeli was ready to start her freshman year at Byron Nelson High School where she had made the high school wrestling team.
Kaeli was a force to be reckoned with and touched so many lives. She will forever live in our hearts and minds as a vivacious, beach loving, rock music jamming, creatively brilliant daughter, sister, granddaughter, niece, cousin, and friend.
She loved so fully and completely, and we were all blessed to have her light up our worlds with her beautiful smile, strong and fierce hugs, and the small kindnesses she passed out to everyone. She never wanted anyone to feel alone or sad and strived to help anyone who was struggling. She was hilarious, curious, brave, courageous, and a fighter.
Kaeli is survived by her father Matthew Murray and Jenny Murray; brothers Jurden Coulson, Evan Coulson, Liam Murray, Connor Murray; uncles David Murray and Jonathan Brian; aunt Amy Brian; cousin Emma Rich; grandparents Bruce and Patricia Murray, Beverly Angle (Jamie), and Kendall Brian; great grandparents Gary and Kay Phillips, and James Williams.
She is preceded in death by great grandparents James “Jim” and Barbara Murray, great grandmother Brenda Williams, and a great grandfather Roy “Jack” Angle.
