1. About Etern.life
These Terms are an agreement between users and Etern.life, (“we,” “us,” or “our”). They apply to https://etern.life and its accounts, Memorial Map, memorial pages, and related services (the “Services”).

Etern.life allows users to connect an online memorial with a location where cremated remains were scattered or interred. The map is a static memorial marker based on information submitted by a user. It does not track an urn, scattering tube, cremated remains, or any other product in real time.

2. Eligibility and Accounts
You must be at least 18 years old and legally able to agree to these Terms. When you create an account, you agree to provide accurate information, protect your password, and notify us at support@etern.life if you believe someone has accessed your account without permission.

3. Public Memorials and Locations
Important: All memorials published on Etern.life are public. There is no private-memorial setting.
A published memorial—including its name, dates, story, photographs, and exact map location—may be viewed, searched, copied, indexed, archived, or shared by anyone. Only publish information you are comfortable making public.

You are responsible for deciding whether it is appropriate to publish a scattering or interment location. A map pin does not give anyone permission to enter private, restricted, or unsafe property. You must follow all laws, site rules, permits, and landowner requirements that apply to scattering, burial, or visiting a location.

4. Your Content
You keep any ownership rights you have in the stories, photographs, locations, and other content you submit (“User Content”). You give Etern.life permission to host, display, format, reproduce, and share that content as needed to operate and promote the Services and display the memorial.

You confirm that you have the right to publish your User Content and that it does not violate another person’s copyright, privacy, publicity, confidentiality, or other legal rights. Please consider the wishes, dignity, privacy, and safety of family members and other living people before publishing.

Do not post private contact details, financial information, government identification numbers, account credentials, sensitive information about minors, or anything that could create a safety risk.

5. Acceptable Use
You may not use Etern.life to:

• Post unlawful, threatening, harassing, hateful, defamatory, fraudulent, obscene, or intentionally harmful content.
• Impersonate another person, falsely claim authority, create a deceptive memorial, or knowingly submit a false location.
• Violate intellectual-property, privacy, publicity, property, or contractual rights.
• Upload malware, bypass security, interfere with the Services, scrape personal information, or use automated systems without permission.
• Use memorial content for unsolicited marketing, surveillance, harassment, identity theft, or another unauthorized purpose.
• Misuse, copy, resell, guess, or fraudulently obtain a GEO-code.

We may remove content or suspend an account when we reasonably believe these Terms have been violated or action is needed to protect users, rights, safety, or the Services.

6. GEO-Codes and Purchases
A valid GEO-code is required to create a memorial. A code may be included with an eligible Passages International product or purchased separately. GEO-codes have no cash value and may not be duplicated, resold, or used fraudulently. We may disable a code that appears stolen, duplicated, compromised, or misused.

Purchases completed on a Passages International website or another website are separate transactions governed by that website’s prices, payment terms, shipping rules, return policy, and privacy practices.

7. Removal Requests and Disputes
Family members or others may disagree about a memorial, its creator, its content, or its location. Etern.life is not a court or family-dispute mediator. We may ask for documentation, temporarily limit access, remove content, or direct the parties to an appropriate legal process.

To report content or request a correction or removal, email support@eternlife. Include the memorial link, your relationship to the matter, the reason for your request, supporting information, and the result you are requesting.

If you believe material infringes your copyright, contact support@etern.life with the work you own, the challenged material and its location, your contact information, and a statement explaining why you believe the use is unauthorized.

8. Third-Party Services
Etern.life may use or link to third-party maps, hosting, CAPTCHA, analytics, email, video, social media, and shopping services. Those services have their own terms and privacy practices. We do not control and are not responsible for third-party content, availability, products, accuracy, or security.

9. Availability and Termination
We work to keep Etern.life available, but we cannot promise that the Services or any memorial will remain available forever or operate without interruptions, errors, security incidents, or data loss. We may change, suspend, or discontinue features when necessary.

You may stop using the Services or request account closure by contacting support@etern.life. We may suspend or close an account that violates these Terms or creates a legal, security, or safety risk.

10. Disclaimers and Liability
The Services provide an online memorial platform, not legal, funeral, environmental, property, or navigation advice. Laws and rules concerning scattering, burial, waterways, parks, public lands, and private property vary. You are responsible for confirming the rules that apply.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, the Services are provided “as is” and “as available.” We do not guarantee that memorial content, locations, map data, or third-party information is accurate, complete, secure, or always available.

11. General Terms
We may update these Terms and will post the revised date above. Material changes may receive additional notice. If one part of these Terms is found unenforceable, the remaining terms will continue to apply.

Our Privacy Policy is part of these Terms and explains how we collect, use, and protect information.
