Stanley Young
We celebrated Dad by inviting all our friends and family to a celebration of life on October 29, 2022 at a family home. We had many family members come from out of town and lots of family friends show up to remember Dad/Stan with stories he shared with us and stories we remembered of times spent with him. Jim, Mom and I were overwhelmed with the love and support we received and it warmed our hearts to know how many people's lives he touched. On May 27, 2023 It was time for us to say our final good bye to Stan/Dad. We released his ashes surrounded by family and some very generous friends that let us use their home on the river, to lay Dad at his final resting place. We will forever be grateful for the love and support of our family and incredible friends.
Stan Young was born in Ocean Falls, BC Canada. He lived there until his older brother passed away and then his family moved to Campbell River where he lived until he was graduated from school. He and his good friend Gordon then moved to Prince George where he met my Mom at CNC while Dad was taking his accounting and my mom was taking office administration. They were married on October 10, 1970. In 1972 they had their daughter Tammy Young (abbs) and in 1974 had their son Jim Young. He had a happy life with a balance of ups and downs over his 77 years of life. He worked at Intercon (Canfor) Pulpmill for over 30 years. He worked as an accountant first and realized it wasn’t for him and then worked as a pulp tester for the remainder of his working career. Stan was able to watch both Tammy marry Dan Abbs and Jim marry Jennifer Hughes. Dad was a super proud Grandpa to four amazing grand kids. Braden Young (who married Quyn and had a daughter together making him a Great Grandpa to Emery Young), Kenzie Young (Jim and Jenn Young), Isabelle Abbs and Clara Abbs (Tammy and Dan Abbs children) He loved to play with the grand kids and as they got older was able to celebrate graduations and weddings and support them with all the love a Grandpa could give and then some.
We are all so lucky to have had him in our lives. He is very missed.
