A private family memorial was held on June 8, 2025 with the distribution of Mary and Bill's ashes off of Pleasure Beach, Waterford Connecticut.
Near the beach that they met and the beaches where they spent a lot of wonderful hours with friends and family over the years.

Mary E. Janousek, 92, died Monday, November 18, 2024, at Rolling Hills Assisted Living Facility in Topeka, Kansas.
She was born June 17, 1932, in New London, Connecticut to Thomas J. and Ruth M. Hanley . She was a 1951 Graduate of Williams Memorial Institute. On April 11, 1953, she married William K. Janousek at the St. Mary Star of the Sea Church, New London, Connecticut. She was a long-time resident of Dodge City and Medicine Lodge, Kansas. She never lost her love of the ocean and her family gave her the most joy.
Survivors include: Sisters, Anne Nolan (Tom Dembeck) and Kathleen Reagan(Mel) and her extended family of nephews and nieces; Children: James Janousek and wife Lynn, Topeka, Kansas; Patti Casterline , Leawood, Kansas and Daniel Janousek (Sarah Deacon), Baltimore, MD; Grandchildren: Andreya Thompson ( Dustin ) Wichita, Kansas; Jessie Gregory (Paul), Leawood, Kansas; William Janousek, Missoula, Montana; Kari Hull (Craig), Severance, Colorado; and Christopher Lett (Shelly), Bellingham, Washington. Great Grandchildren Gwen, Jay, Scott Gregory; Marlo Lett; and Bailee and Greysen Thompson. She was preceded in death by William, her husband, her parents, brother Thomas and a daughter-in-law, Rachel Greene.
William K. Janousek, 78, died Saturday, July 17, 2010 at Harry Hynes Memorial Hospice, Wichita.
He was born December 13, 1931 at Ellsworth, Kansas, the son of William D. and Marjorie Lucille Keith Janousek. He was a 1949 graduate of Dodge City High School and Colorado State Teachers College in Greely, Colorado and taught school at Miller School in Dodge City. He was a regional manager for Maytag Appliance and Finn Distributing later owning and operating Janousek’s Home Center in Dodge City and was the Kansas Marketing Manager for Amana Refrigeration, retiring in September 1995 after 30 years.
He was of Catholic faith and had a special bond with the Sister’s of St. Joseph. He was a Life Member of Howard Gotschall VFW Post 1714 and Past USD 443 School Board President all in Dodge City and was the former clerk for the Elm Mills Township in Barber County.
He served in the United States Navy during Korea in the submarine service.
On April 11, 1953 he married Mary Hanley at New London, Connecticut.
Survivors include: his wife; 3 children, Jim Janousek and wife Lynn, Topeka, Patti Casterline and husband Carl, Dodge City and Dan Janousek, College Park, Maryland; his sister, Sister Veronica Marie Janousek, Wichita; 5 grandchildren, Andreya Sooby and husband Chris, Salina, Jessie Gregory and husband Paul, Prairie Village, Kansas, William Janousek, Santa Cruz, California, Kari Casterline, Dodge City and Christopher Lett and wife Shelly, Kansas City, Missouri..
He was preceded in death by his parents and a daughter-in-law, Rachel Greene.
