Howard Janet Meece
We gathered as a family after each of my parents passed. Neither one wanted a traditional funeral and both wanted to be cremated. Their ashes were combined and I have the honor of placing some of them in the Gulf of Mexico as they wished.
They were simply the best parents I ever could have asked for. I hope that my daily actions honor their goodness.
My parents dated and were married within 6 months in 1954. Theirs was a love story for the ages. Their devotion to each other and their family was unending.
They loved to dance (and danced professionally on TV) and travel the United States. They were always there for their daughters and then their grands and great grands. Theirs was truly a love story as they were tirelessly devoted to each other. They lived living in Florida after retiring and spent 16 years there before returning to Cincinnati to be close to family. Howard passed away on 2/6/2019 and Janet on 9/21/2024 (her after a battle with Alzheimer’s). I had their ashes combined and to honor their wishes I will place their urn in the Gulf of Mexico on April 17, 2024, which would have been Janet’s 90th birthday.
