Bill Mccabe
Today, July 22 is the 49th day, and according to certain buddhist tradition, it is believed our passed loved-one will move onto the after-life through rebirth or heaven within 49 days of their passing. I'm sure Dad, full of good Karmic energy, is glorious and out in the universe, but he will always be in the hearts of those who loved him.
Dad and I spent a lot of time at the beach when I was a kid. It was some of my happiest memories. We felt is was fitting that a part of him was left at the beaches we so loved in Pacifica (Mori Point) and Coyote Point (San Mateo).
William (Bill Benitez) Phillip, McCabe was born on August 4,1950 in San Francisco, Ca to David Robert Benitez and Edith “Pinky” (Pinkstaff) May Benitez. He married Thu Dinh on Sep 21, 1972 in San Francisco, Ca whom he met in Vietnam when he was drafted into the Vietnam war.
His siblings include: Linda, Jon, David, Kennith, Steve, Deborah and Ricky.
He enjoyed a long and distinguished career in the Aerospace industry, primarily at Lockheed Martin and Lam Research. He was instrumental in the testing and launch of the Hubble Satellite. He lived in San Jose at his beloved home with which he focused a lot of attention in its design since 1990. He was spiritual and had an interest in Zen Buddhism. He also loved fantasy and science fiction and was an avid reader. Some of his favorites included Lord of the Rings and Dune . He was also a wonderful artist and studied art in his youth. Never idle, during retirement, he enjoyed researching his family genealogy, learning guitar, exercising and working on his house.
With deep sadness, on 6/3/24 he passed away. He is survived by his wife (Thu), daughter (Evan/Van), granddaughter (Kimberly), stepdaughter (Lan), grandson (Sunny), sister (Debbie), brothers (Steve and Ken) and many nieces and nephews. He will be forever missed and loved for his intelligence, creativity, empathy and love… his being.
Rest in peace dad and spread your glory in the universe! You will always be in our hearts. ❥❥❥
