Angel Manuel Matos

Born March 2, 1933 in Cidra, Puerto Rico. Mother: Rosa Matos Father: Manuel Caraballo As a child he moved from Puerto Rico to Miami, Florida. He taught himself the English language by watching TV. When he started working he found a job at a restaurant washing dishes. He eventually moved up to a cook. He retired as a cook from the Rascal House Restaurant in Miami, Florida. He lived with his brother, Angel Luis Caraballo, the remainder of his years in North Miami, Florida. He enjoyed taking walks, laying on a bench he built in the back yard under a mango tree. He picked the mangos and star fruit out of the trees with a long pole he put together. He also had frequent arguments with the chickens who kept coming in the back yard. He enjoyed having one beer and one glass of wine every evening after dinner. Even though his children didn’t live close to see him, he was thought of often and loved very much.
