July 15, 1955 - March 25, 2026 Celebrated on: July 15, 2026
62 Weaver Lane, Clarendon, Pennsylvania, 16313
There was a wake held immediately following his funeral. He was such a loved man- there was a large attendance.
The family always shares loving memories, but we had an official memorial on July 15, 2026 for his birthday while at camp. We took his ashes to his favorite hunting spot and took some time to remember him.
We continue to celebrate him and remember him through the little things.
Papa’s ashes were scattered at his favorite hunting spot at “100-mile away camp.” The family also has a few small urns and memorial jewelry pieces to keep some ashes closer to home.
Tom was born in Erie, on July 15, 1955, a son of the late Edward and Lenore (Erickson) Potter II.
He graduated from Rice Avenue Union High School as part of the class of 1973 and went on to build houses with Potter Brothers Construction. He later worked for Hilbert Company Inc. and joined the Plumbers Union Local 27. He spent the remainder of his career working as a plumber before “retiring” in 2017. Although we all know he never truly retired, he worked even harder in retirement.
While always a hardworker, Tom was most of all a devoted husband, father, grandfather and friend. He left a lasting impression on the community through his work, passions and unmistakable presence. He was a loyal Pittsburgh Steelers fan. He enjoyed hunting, going to camp, woodworking, helping others and spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. He was an honorary member of the Cherry Grove VFD and past member of Platea VFD. Tom will be remembered for the life he built with hard work and heart.
