A service was held on Saturday, April 12th at 3pm at St. Charles Yacht Club, 15900 St Charles Harbour Blvd in Fort Myers, Florida followed by a Celebration of Life cocktail hour.

Dennis August Green, 79, of Fort Myers, Florida passed away March 24, 2025.
Dennis was born on February 6, 1946, in Cleveland, Ohio, the son of Russell and MaryAnn (Stofan) Green. He had two brothers, Neil (Carol) Green and John Murphy (Jerome Moskowitz).
He grew up in Cleveland and graduated from James Ford Rhodes High School. Soon after, he was drafted into the US Army and served in the Vietnam War. Upon his return, he entered the brokerage business.
Dennis started his family and welcomed two daughters, Amy Havelka and Jennifer (Scott) Setzenfand.
He married his beloved wife, Garnet “Gay” in 1985 and two sons joined the family, Craig (Jennifer) Chomos and Steve (Mercedes) Chomos.
Dennis was the proud grandpa of Lauren (Noah) Flack, Zoe Setzenfand, Mason Havelka, Heidi Setzenfand, Alec Chomos, and Ella Chomos.
Dennis’ career trading securities began in 1964. He rose to head Nasdaq/OTC trading at Prescot, Ball and Turben in Cleveland, before moving to Chicago in 1991, when the firm was acquired by Kemper Securities. After Kemper was sold, he then took the head trading post at Legg Mason in Baltimore in 1997. He retired five years later. He proudly served the trading community and was named Security Traders Association (STA) Chairman in 1990. He was known as a great mentor to many in the industry as he always saw the potential in people and offered them encouragement.
He was active in his community no matter where he lived. He served as captain of the auxiliary police in Bay Village, Ohio, spent many years as the president of the homeowner’s association at St. Charles and most recently served as Commodore of St. Charles Yacht Club.
Throughout his life, Dennis enjoyed exercising every day. No matter the city, he would find a place to work out. He was a proud Vietnam veteran. He had a gift for making friends wherever he went.
He was predeceased in death by his parents and his brother, Neil.
Dennis is survived by his wife, Garnet, his children and their spouses, his grandchildren, his brother, John, and numerous nephews and nieces.
